Our Network
At Cellular One, we believe that the most important characteristics of a cellular network are coverage, reliability, call quality and features. The design and evolution of our network reflects our commitment to that belief. That is why we are pleased to announce the availability of GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications), phones and service! We are committed to providing our customers the latest in wireless technology. We have made huge investments in our new GSM network and now are able to offer our customers the many benefits that come with this new and exciting technology, including: improved coverage, top of the line feature rich phones (camera phones, downloadable ringtones, games and wallpapers), and web access directly from your phone.
With the 48 cell towers listed below, our network of cell sites continues to grow, offering increased coverage and more reliable service.
This commitment to superior coverage is matched by our commitment to
the reliability and quality of our network. We continue to upgrade our
switch, the powerful computer that runs the network, to offer our customers
the latest features, including digital coverage and Enhanced 911 services.
To ensure the highest level of reliability, our switch is 100% redundant. This means that there are two identical switches,
side by side which alternate in and out of service in order to ensure the highest
possible level of uninterrupted service. Our switch was designed
to support our on-going network expansion and easily accommodates additional
cell sites.
In addition, Cellular One is part of the American Roaming Network, an association of cellular companies who maintain connections between their networks. This enables our customers to send and receive calls automatically, whether they are in their home area or traveling to other parts of the state or the nation.
Cellular One's decision, years ago, to provide the best, most reliable Cellular Network in central West Virginia has resulted in a superior service for our customers and is part of an on-going commitment that drives how we do business.
We're pulling out all the stops to insure that our network, our service and our people continue to provide you with the kind of high-value cellular experience you have come to expect.
